Hotel Villa Verde Congress & SPA is located in Zawiercie in Polish Jura. Zawiercie is only 26 minutes drive from Katowice International Airport (KTW) and around 1 hour from Kraków Airport (KRK). Also Zawiercie is an important railway junction and has direct Eurocity/Euronight connections with capitals such as Prague, Bratislava, Vienna, Budapest and of course Warsaw.
Initially, hotel makes few hundred places available for PyCon PL attendees Conference venue offers modern rooms with good **** standard which should satisfy everyone.
The venue is well prepared for organizing conferences and convetions, offering good conference rooms for talks and workshops with modern equipment. Hotel also has big grill hut that can fit 500 people. There is also a small brewery that is a part of the hotel, which serves craft beer. How to get by public transport?
If going by plane then the best choice is flying to Katowice International Airport (KTW). If that's not possible then Kraków Airport (KRK) or Warsaw Chopin International Airport (WAW) are good alternatives. From the airport you can either take a taxi or use a bus to get to Silesian aglomeration, and from there by train to Zawiercie.
If you travel by train, then you should look for connections with Zawiercie. There are direct connections to major Polish cities and some of the European capitals like Prague, Bratislava. Vienna and Budapest. If you cannot find one from your location, then try to reach Katowice first, from there you can find plenty of trains (slower local and faster long-distance going to Zawiercie).
In Zawiercie you can either take a city bus or a taxi.
Conference bus transfers
Due to location of the conference hotel and many possibilities to reach Zawiercie by public transport, we are not organizing transport from a bigger city this year. However we are considering organizing small transfers from the airport if there are attendees interested in such transportation.
How to get by car?
You can reach Zawiercie easily by going national road no. 1 (DK1) either from Silesia or Częstochowa. In Siewierz you need to take road no. 78 towards Zawiercie. On the first roundabout in Zawiercie you need to take 3rd exit (left) entering road 791. At the end of it there will be another roundabout where you take 2nd exit to Mrzygłodzka street and a that point the conference venue will be on your left side.
Shared journey
In our conference system we have a module where our attendees can contact other attendees for a shared journey. It requires some engagement and checking the available options, but can be the best way to reach the conference venue.
