Call for Proposals for PyCon PL 2013 is open

If you are interested in taking part in PyCon PL as a speaker, it’s a really good moment to send your proposal now! The Call for Proposals for PyCon PL 2013 is open.

This year we are looking for talks in a form of 30-45 minutes 1-2 people on stage presentations, as well as a bit longer 90-180 minutes workshops. If you are interested in giving a talk or leading a workshop, give it a go and send us your idea using this our proposal form. If for some reason your form is not able to fill to neither talk nor tutorial let us know by sending an email pycon-prog@linux.rybnik.pl, surely we will figure something out.

The Talk

Well known form of conferences’ presentation. Standard talk on given subject, presented with help of slides. Usual time for this would be 30-45 minutes plus Q&A time slot of 15 minutes, for each presentation. If you are interested in this, please submit the following things:

  • the talk subject,
  • expected duration of the talk, we can accept anything between 30-45 minutes, but if you predict that for some reason your presentation will take longer, let us know as well
  • short talk descriptions
  • few words about yourself

The Workshop

The PyCon PL 2013 conference will feature 90-180 minutes tutorials on Python related topics. We have now started soliciting proposals and nominations for tutorials. So ask yourself: Am I a right person for a lecture on that topic? We are looking for workshop as well, so if you feel good enough on teaching Python related topic let us know.

If you are interested, we need few things:

  • the tutorial subject
  • expected duration time, from our side suggested time would be 90-180 minutes,
  • short tutorial description,
  • requirements related to technical side of the tutorial, frankly speaking, what you need from our side to make this happen,
  • few words about yourself

The Deadline

We are looking to have all proposal not later than 28th of July 2013. Week after this date we will deliver information if your talk/tutorial was accepted or not.

The Bonus

If author gets accepted, hs/she will have 2 weeks to prepare longer description form of accepted presentation. PyCon PL has this tradition of releasing conference’s booklet, where attendees are able to read more detailed descriptions about talks, speakers and conference itself. Those who manage to deliver this content, will get full refund of conference tickets, after the event!
